The CEA Mercury Program

Communicating to the General Public our Findings on Mercury Emissions

Eight coal-fired power generation companies in Canada have joined forces to develop and implement the CEA Mercury Program. The Program is designed to improve the information base around the measurement and control of mercury emissions from coal-fired generation.

The key components to the program are a laboratory round robin, research and development, and a mercury sampling and analysis program. The findings of this program will provide critical information for establishing and reviewing a mercury standard for Canada, and finding cost-effective and efficient management options for mercury emissions over the long-term.

This Website has been designed to facilitate the public dissemination of the Program findings
